Being a Mom has opened a whole new world to me so I thought I would share the top ten things I never new before coming a Mom. They are:

10) Babies will really put things in the VCR. I always thought it was my Mom messing with me. Kaelyn’s fingers get stuck at least twice a day.

9) Babies LOVE animals. The cats haven’t been safe in year and it will only get worse.

8) A baby’s cry has a special octave that will drive Mothers to insanity. Or at least to alcholism.

7) Empty paper towel rolls = hours of fun. Cheapest toy ever!

6) I can survive on 3 hours of sleep at a time. I am just a real bitch after. Just ask Mike.

5) Two door cars are the devil with a carseat. My back will never be the same.

4) Breastfeeding hurts. Marketing campaigns with the Mom looking lovingly at the baby while feeding are a big crock of shit. Her eyes are all teary because of the pain……not love.

3) Babies will throw things on the floor simply to watch you pick it up. This also equals hours of fun for baby.

2) Baby food is not that bad. The fruit puffs are my favorite. Wagon wheels are a close second.

And number one is………………

You will discuss your kids bowel movements with others……freely. Shape, size, texture, and frequency will all become dinner conversation. GROSS!

I missed the entire month of July posting to my blog. Oh well. I’m not that exciting anyway.

Kaelyn’s birthday is coming up soon. I cannot believe she will be one. It has gone by way to fast. People have asked what she would like for her birthday. She has no idea but I created a "wish list" at Babies R Us for gift ideas for those who would like to buy her something. She is registered under her parents names. She is currently wearing 12 month clothing right now but will be moving into 18 months soon so if you want to purchase clothes, those would be the sizes to get.

Kaelyn has starting walking. She took her first few steps on July 24th. She has only managed about six steps before falling down and laughing at herself. She understands the word NO but just laughs at us when we tell her. Or she will start crying because she knows we are about to take something away from her (remote, the cat’s tail, magazine, etc). She has figured out how to turn on the receiver in the entertainment center. Yesterday I was watching CSI Miami when all of a sudden I was listening to the radio instead of the televison sound. Kaelyn was very proud of herself!

Ok…….what else? Work is ok. Still on a break from school. Married life is the same as before but I finally changed my last name. Just need to get a new license and get used to signing my new name.

We are enjoying our new home but I am tired of sitting in traffic for two hours a day. I am going to start my new job hunt soon. Something closer to home with more pay. Wish me luck

Dying June 25, 2007

I’m sick. Kaelyn is sick. Mike is sick. And it sucks. I’m bored with being sick for so long.

On the flip side, we are still getting things done. Just bought a patio set and ceiling fans for the porch yesterday and are working to hang pictures around the house. I am amazed at how much we get done when Kaelyn is napping!

Kaelyn is cruising around on the furniture and is so proud of herself everyday. She will be a year old soon and I can’t wait and I am sad all at the same time. She is growing too fast.

We just watched the movie Children of Men last night with Dan and Marcella. It was a weird concept but I recommend it. It is sad to think what the world may/has come to and what kind of world Kaelyn may grown up in.

My birthday is tomorrow but I got my present from Mike early. I got a new Coach purse that I really wanted and we went to dinner Saturday night. We went to Ruth Chris in Scottsdale which was really good. I rate the creme brulee a 4 out of 5. Only Va Bene has ever gotten a 5 in my opinion. They have a chocolate creme brulee that is amazing!

Kaelyn had a doctor appointment on Friday. She is 22 pounds which is 95% percentile for her age. She was really sick last week with a cold and gave it to Mike and I. Mike is still home recovering today.

Mike, Kaelyn and I are going to dinner with my friend Steve from Florida who is in town for training. I haven’t seen him in years so it will be nice to hang out.

Wow! I haven’t posted in a while. Been busy I guess.

Mike and I got married in April. Everything went really well and it was great to share it with our friends and family.

Kaelyn is getting her second tooth and is a crawling machine! She goes everywhere and tries to climb the stairs. She is moving to the next room at daycare where all the babies crawl and walk. She was squishing the smaller babies in her current room. Kaelyn can pull herself into a sitting position so now when we go to get her out of her crib, she is sitting up and holding onto the bars like she is in baby jail. It is really cute! She attempts to pull herself up on things but can’t do it without help just yet. She was 9 months last week but wears 12 month clothes. She is a big girl.

I am on break from school and it is great! It has been nice not having to worry about homework.

Mike and I are kitten-sitting this weekend for Dan and Marcella’s new kitty. Mike is at home with her today and so far I heard that none of our 3 cats are enjoying the new kitty (Nikka).

Mike jumped in the pool last weekend and we are going to take Kaelyn in this weekend. I am a wimp. The water is still too cold for me at 80 degrees.

I am sure I am missing a ton of things but I will try to post more often.

Kaelyn is crawling and just got her first tooth. She is still a happy little baby even while teething and landing on her face while attempting to crawl. She has taken to yelling at her toys and her parents as a form of communication. We are hoping that doesn’t last long.

After this class is over in two weeks I am taking a break from school. I am tired of homework.

I went to Sedona on Saturday for Rae’s wedding. It was fun! Sedona is beautiful. I wonder if I could move there and telecommute with work?

Mike and I are getting married. So why if we are the ones getting married does everyone think they have the right to butt into our wedding plans? We are paying for the majority of it so you would think we could make the decisions. Apparently not. What do I know? Maybe once I complete my MBA I will be smart enough to figure it out because a degree is the way to measure intelligence…….right? Can you feel the sarcasm dripping from my keyboard?

I am three seconds away from calling it off and moving to Bali.

Hi!

Kaelyn turned 6 months old on Tuesday. Time has flown by! She rolls over both ways and is showing interest in crawling. Meaning she sticks her butt in the air but goes no where just yet. She has moved on from cereal to peas to carrots. Last night she got carrots on her eyelashes. Everything she owns is now orange

V-day was good. We went to Z-teja’s and K slept the entire time. What a good baby! Mike and I got to have a quiet meal together which doesn’t happen very often. K is usually at the table playing with her toys.

Last Saturday we went to Vincent’s with Mike’s parents and my friend Jac watched baby K for us. The food was great! It was my first time there and I was very impressed. I had duck…..I had never tried it but it was really good!

Wedding plans are going well. It was stressful for a bit but I think we have it under control now. 65 days and counting……..

Mike and I are still in school. We each take turns watching the baby and doing homework. It will be great once we graduate! Then we can do homework with K.

Hi!

Mike and I decided we are getting married on April 28, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada. We are looking forward to celebrating with our friends and family. I hope to send our our save the date cards this week.

Mike was in Argentina last week so it was Kaelyn and I against the world! Unfortunately it was a cold world because the heat went out for a day. Luckily we had our friend’s space heater so we were snuggly warm in the nursery. While Mike was gone my friend Rae came into town so we got to hang out which was fun. She gets married two weeks before we do in Sedona.

Kaelyn rolled over twice last week and around 7 times last night. She is growing up! She had her first solid foods (rice cereal) on Saturday and did really well.

Busy Busy! January 10, 2007

Happy New Year everyone! I have been so busy I forgot to update my blog. I know everyone is sad.

Christmas was great! Kaelyn got a ton of stuff and so did Mike and I from our wonderful families and friends. We are very lucky.

Mike proposed on Dec 30 so we are getting married. We haven’t picked a date or place yet but I have a ring……..and a dress! We went to the bridal show this past weekend and I had to have this dress. VERY pretty!

We had friends over for New Year’s at the new house and it was a lot of fun. Kaelyn slept through the new year which is to be expected!

Kaelyn is doing great. Almost 5 months and she is about 17 pounds 25 1/2 inches. She smiles all the time and even rolled over! Just once that we have seen so far.
